Post Best Time To Travel
Morning Folks.I thought the site had closed coz it was so quiet. So I will help move things along by asking a question.
Anybody know what is generally the best/*spam* time of the year to travel to Phils?I tried looking at various dates after summer(more expensive with the kids off school). So Im looking at least 6 months in advance, and its still very expensive to get to Cebu.I have tried the usual suspects,KLM.Cathay,Singapore,Etihad,Kayak,Travelocity,Orbitz,Expedia,Club Travel,eBookers, just to name a few,and Im still looking at close on 800e.
If anyone has any good ideas/sites/travel agents I would love to know.
Thanks in advance.

Hi srfc1,

I'd answer your question by telling you when are the most expensive times to travel from Dublin in general.
* Easter (1 week before and 2 weeks after)
*Summer Season (usually around 25Jun-17Aug departures from Dublin)
*Mid Term Break (Last week of October)
*December (practically the whole month)

Most of the flight search engines display only the general fares. When there are special fares or 'promo fares' most of the search engines won't be able to display them because of the intricate rules to obtain these special fares. That's the time to consult a travel agent who'll be able to book your flights and avail of the special fares by booking them for you manually. A classic example is when I searched for a fare to Manila on ClubTravel.ie I got the *spam* fare at 845.00 with Etihad. When I rang Club Travel, I get to speak to a Filipino guy who specializes in booking cheap fares to the Philippines and gave me the same flight with Etihad at 725.00 euros only and an even cheaper flight with KLM at 702.00eur. Booking with an agent is still cool nowadays as they are bonded so our moneys are safe if ever the airline or the Travel agency go bust. Plus, we get to avail of more services from our travel agents if for some emergency reasons we need to change dates of our booked flights.

I would highly recommend you to ring Club Travel and look for Marvin. His direct line is 01 5005576 or better yet email him your inquiries at marvin@clubtravel.ie

Mabuhay,

Pinoy Idol

My husband booked a flight for March 2010 and cost about 870 euros. He booked it from www.edreams.com You can also try to book from terminalA.ie or travelpaths.ie The best time to travel here is summer time, so you can go to different beaches here, that is for the month of March, April and May, the other month best time to travel is month of December to January. The rest of the months will be rainy season in the Philippines :) God bless
